Icon Contest Winners!!

Journal Entry: Sun Nov 29, 2009, 12:41 AM
Wow! You guys were amazing...really! Everyone blew me away with their incredible icon-building skills and I want to thank all of you for helping me.

You can view the icon entries here: [link] They are all so beautiful and I hardly expected to receive so many awesome submissions!

I had a terrible time choosing just one icon. There were a few in particular that were exactly what I wanted. But in the end, I went with my gut and picked the one that stood out the most for me, visually.

So, the winner is :iconpetrova: !! Your animated icon was eye-catching, uncluttered, and used some of my favorite, flashiest masks in a really artful way. It's a bright colorful splash of design and action and it's exactly perfect. Thank you so much!

Runner-up is :iconwind-hime-kaze: , the Okami mask is a perfect choice for a simple static design and I like it so much that it'll be my Etsy shop icon from now on. :-)

Since there are two winners, I'll be sending two prizes. :iconpetrova: gets a mask! :iconwind-hime-kaze: , you'll receive a kitsune keychain.

Also, to anyone who participated & wants one...thank-you keychains!

Your prizes/thank-you gifts will be mailed to you...just send me a private message here in DA from the same username account that you used to submit your icon entry, so I can match you up with your entry! Include your real name & mailing address, and I'll send out your prizes this week. Please respond by Tuesday at the latest...I want to have everything in the mail by Wednesday.

Thank you all again! You guys are the best. :-)

Praises and future creativity to you. All your masks are exquisite. I had wondered if you had thought of a tengu style mask. I ask because of your bird style masks are so very distinctive and you have several oriental inspired pieces. Yet the tengu seems to evade most leather mask makers. And the ones that I have seen are nice but seem to lack the feathers effect. But I believe that you could conquer that deficiency with your superlative example of mane work on your Haku (sp) dragon mask. It was just a curious "wonder" on my part is all.

These have to be some of the most beautiful, intricate, and well designed masks I've ever seen in my life. You madam, have a gift for creating art

And you've done Masks for Cirque? It's no surprise. These are just...perfect. No other word for it...just perfect.

Simply amazing! I do hope you continue your work.
