Masks on faces...

Journal Entry: Tue May 8, 2012, 12:24 PM

Hey, hi, hello happy DevArt friends!

I have added a new folder to my gallery: "Masks Being Worn", because I get daily requests for pictures of people wearing my artwork.  You can see it here:   [link]
I only have a limited number of good-quality pictures in there so if anyone out there has decent photographs of themselves wearing my masks, please let me know!  I'd love to add you to the group.    I desperately need more good, high-quality pictures of the cog-monocle critters and Industrial Anubis masks on faces, so those would be especially appreciated.

Also!  I am announcing a new collaboration with another extremely talented Deviant, Beki.  :iconxxxbekixxx:

Beki has the whole package,  she's not just a pretty face.  She not only models, but does her own photography, editing, make up and hair.  She has a real talent for face-painting, nail art, cool wigs and even uses contacts for amazing eye effects with an instinctual flair for the dramatic side of portrait photography.  I've been approached by dozens of models and photographers here on DA, but Beki is my choice because she can do it all.  A real Renaissance Girl in the truest sense of the word.

So far, she's been having fun with Time Bandit as you can see, but there is much more to come.   I'm so excited to be working with this gifted young artist and I can't wait to see what she'll do next!  Go say hi and check out her gallery...she's going to be a star.

Meanwhile, the shop is still busy busy.   I'm limiting new commissions right now because Super Secret Big Project is still rolling along like a freight train out of control, but the shop is well stocked with masks available for sale and ready to be shipped on a moment's notice (that moment being; the moment you buy them!).

Keep an eye on my Facebook fan page: [link]
New mask listings go in there first, and sometimes they're sold before I even get the chance to share them here on DA...so if you're hoping for a limited-edition numbered piece you'll want to fave and save that site.

Big news coming soon, so stay tuned!  *smooch*  Love you all! :dalove:

Andrea Masse-Tognetti
Artist | Professional | Artisan Crafts
United States
I'm a self-representing artist from western New York. Self taught in the art of leather maskmaking, I've been working exclusively with leather sculpture for over twenty years.

In 2006, I created several designs for Cirque Du Soleil. Currently, a synthetic version of my mask "Frivole" is in mass production and available in Cirque Du Soleil gifts shops everywhere.

In 2008, I was invited to create over fifty exclusive masks for the Muscle Musical production "Magicarade", in Tokyo Japan. I appeared on several national Japanese television shows with my masks throughout the 2008-2009 holiday season.

In October of 2009, I appeared on the Martha Stewart Show and demonstrated my mask-making technique on live national television.

In 2010, I was commissioned to create several wolf masks for Halloween season window displays throughout the United States. The masks were featured in Ralph Lauren Rugby store windows everywhere.

Currently, I'm transitioning and adapting my pieces for use in visual media. Some of my designs will be featured in international film productions (yet to be announced), and my masks are being used in several major advertisement campaigns both within the USA and internationally.

I am always coming up with new designs and ideas...

Thank you! They are really so darn cute. I wish there was some way to include the tails with the mask because they have the best tails ever. :)

Thank you! Actually I used pthalocyanine green and pthalo blue, but added the Liquitex bright silver to it to get the pearly effect. I like to mix my own colors usually because then I can get varying levels of metallic sheen. :)
