I know there is a white kitsune elsewhere in my gallery that looks, well, pretty much exactly like this one. But, this is a new version of that design that I just finished. The shaping went better and my photography skills have improved by far, so I thought it deserved a fresh look.
This is made of leather...my own technique. It's hand shaped and hand carved, with no molds or forms, and since I use fairly thick leather it's very durable and wearable.
Kitsune are Japanese fox spirits. White is a very traditional color for kitsune. The goddess Inari is often depicted as a white fox.
This design was NOT inspired by Inari, however. ^_^ It was inspired by the video game "Okami". There's an evil kitsune character in the game...she wears a mask very like this one. That's why I love Okami so much; it incorporates very recognizeable Japanese tradition throughout the game.
This mask (and others like it!) is for sale right now at my online Etsy shop: [link]
Can you tell me if your willing to ship to the UK and what the cost might be?? I ask cos I've not found mask's that I liked till I was pointed at your Devious site and now I really really really really want one lol
Hi! Yes, I do ship to the UK. I ship either 1st class parcel (which is cheap but there is no way to track the package so, no guarantees & I'm not responsible for lost mail) or registered (which is very expensive...about $25).
I usually ship the cheapest way & so far have never lost a package, so there's that.
At any rate, if you follow my etsy shop link below, you'll see what I have available right now & can read all my shipping policies there.
You should try one with a longer snout, like Rao's... and the little dots beneath the eyes. I like those. But of course, this is your design. ^^ I love the swirlies etched in the gray parts. They really add some extra character. Hmmmm I may need to get one of these some day. I think I could pull off a Rao cosplay, maybe next year... though without the "busty babe" feature. Lol.
Do you have a quote on about how much this would cost? I'd love to have one for my Rao cosplay...
it's sooooooooooo awesome
