Autumn Leaf Wolf V1 by merimask Autumn Leaf Wolf V1 by merimask
Here's a brand new design that combines two of my favorite themes; a Timber Wolf mask that includes the "green man" motif. This version is a black wolf with dark gray highlights, adorned with a mask of red/gold autumn oak leaves.

Like all my masks, this is made from 8oz leather, hand carved and hand shaped with no molds, stamps or forms. I took great care to carve every hair, because I wanted this mask to be as detailed as possible. It's painted with a combination of acrylic stains and colorfast Liquitex acrylic paints and sealed with a clear coat for durability.

This is a signed, dated, numbered original; Autumn Leaf Wolf V1, available (until he is gone!) in my shop right now: [link]

I absolutely love this mask.  Wolves are my favorite animals and red and black are my favorite colors so this is win-win.  Nicely done!

great :) I really like details and technique in your works in leather. And I'm a bit jealous :D because some time ago I tried myself to do something of this kind but... than I didn't have time and now I don't know if it is worthy to begin again :)

Oh my gosh! It's gorgeous? Do you do consignments? Cause short on cash now but SO would love a few of the wolf masks. I have wolves in various art forms all over my house. Thanks!!

Hi! I was wondering how you do the fur details on your mask?

Oops, I forgot to attach a picture of what I was thinking of for a special order. I really liked the look of the mask this character was wearing in this artwork by anoki-doll.

I was thinking a similar look ( autumn leaves, deer antlers) but maybe with a few Celtic designs carved into the antlers. Are you available for a special order, and if so, do you have any idea how much something like that look would cost? If there are reasons why you wouldn't want to make the mask so closely resembling the artwork (I'm not sure what all the rules are for making artwork based off other people's ideas. ) then I would totally be open to messing around with the design until we find something that works.

Either way, thanks so much. Again, sorry I had to post this here, but I was just having quite a bit of trouble with that on-line shop.

Hey there, sorry, your website shop is giving me trouble with creating an account, ( keeps trying to send me confirmation letters over and over again even though I've confirmed a dozen times already) so I will have to ask my question here.

Do you charge extra for special orders? Do you have an average ball park for how long a mask usually takes to make? Complex ones will of course take longer, but I'm just asking because I need a mask for Halloween, so I'm just checking. Also, do you have a basic price starting point for special orders?

Thanks so much!

I love it. The colours go really well together and that hint of gold brings out the feeling of autumn. I also particularly like the detail around the ears and around and between the eyes. The way the leaves flow outwards from the eyes draws a lot of attention to the centre and eyes of the mask, which gives it a very intense look.
