Another leather dragon mask. Is everybody good and sick of my dragons right about now? I hope not! I want to keep experimenting with this pattern...it lends itself well to a three-color combination and there are still SO many combinations I want to try. Black, green & copper is the next one. Well...eventually anyway.
This one has a really nice cat's eye cabochon inlay. I tried to match the color with my paint but the blue turned out too frosty (I mixed too much pearlescent white in there). I guess I don't mind; the contrast is interesting.
This mask (and many more) can be seen (and even purchased!) at my online Etsy shop: [link]
Finally, I found my mask! I love this thing to bits, and I'm so happy I found you on deviantart so that I could thank you for making such a wonderful piece of art.
It's really amazing and beautiful! I can't tell in the picture, but are the scales carved/stamped or just painted? Either way, it looks fabulous. If it is stamped, do you have any suggestions for how to use stamps on leather masks? I've been starting to play around with leather, but I am having a hard time integrating the molded form and the carving/stamping. I would love some tips if you have any!
