This was a fun, interesting commission: a mostly black mask with blue and white flames, designed to look almost like horns. It's all one piece of leather, in spite of the fact that the flames look like separate pieces; I just carved and painted very carefully and precisely.
The center needed a little something, so we added a section of silvery Venetian-style spirals. In construction it's very like my Half-Dragon masks. I think it would be stunning with red/gold flames on black, with gold swirls...might have to try that soon.
As ever, this is hand-carved, hand-shaped 8oz vegetable-tanned tooling leather, painted with Liquitex acrylics.
