Blue Knave Of Hearts Mask by merimask Blue Knave Of Hearts Mask by merimask
Another little Knave Of Hearts mask (can you tell I'm all out of large pieces of leather? I wish that new hide would get here).

I love this color combination; metallic pthalo blue, black and white. I added silver swirls in the heart, and silver ribbon ties. It's all wintery...

As ever, this is made from handcarved 8oz leather, hand formed without molds and painted with Liquitex acrylics. Available right now at my online shop: [link]

Oh, blue. Why did you have to do blue? It's one of my favorite designs of yours, now in my favorite color...

I want all of your masks. But I can only use so many masks at once! *consternation*

Maybe I can start layering them on...

Thank you, it really is that metallic, too. The silver always mixes so nicely into pthalo blue.

Thank you. :-) I had to make it a really vibrant metallic blue, so it wouldn't just blend with the black.

Oh, is the blue really this shiny in real life? Love the look, it reminds me of some movie jester, but i can't remember who exactly... ^^

Yes! I added silver to it to bring out the vibrant green shades inside and it's just the prettiest smooth metallic blue. :-)

Phtalo blue is a lovely colour, and it works really well in this mask. :)

Did you know there are two pthalo shades? A red shade and a green. The red shade looks, to me, pretty much like Prussian Blue. I like the green shade (that's what this is) because it's really vibrant.

I didn't know that. Prussian blue is probably my favourite blue (and I realise how much of an art-nerd that makes me sound) - but I've always associated "Pthalo blue" with the greener shade. Interesting. :)

Oooo, VERY nice with the blue! I kept thinking of warm shades to go with that mask, but I never thought of blue. :D It is very wintery. :D
