Copper Gold Medusa Two...2010by *merimask

So, here is the second Medusa mask I finished this weekend. I like both equally. Since they are hand-shaped, there's a great deal of variation in each mask...even if I create them at the same time.

As ever, this mask is cut from one piece of 8oz leather, hand carved and sculpted with no mold or form. It's wet shaped and heat hardened, and painted with Liquitex acrylics. The snakes' eyes are 4mm malachite beads, sewn to black suede scraps by hand and cemented in place individually...it takes forever!
