Fancy Traditional Kitsune Mask, whiteby *merimask

Artisan Crafts / Costumery / Masks

New kitsune design; I've been making the same kitsune design for ~years~ now, so I decided to challenge myself with a more intricate pattern. Kitsune= traditional Japanese fox spirit.

Went back to basics and researched traditional Japanese kitsune masks (there are hundreds of different markings) and picked a few of my favorite elements. The "long eye" is very traditional and I think it makes the mask look almost like Kabuki make-up, you know?

Made of hand carved hand shaped leather, painted with acrylics.
