I just finished a new Frost Dragon, ordered from my Etsy shop. Every time I do one of these, it's a bit daunting. I actually have a period of time between cutting, carving, shaping and painting where I stop at the beginning of each stage and say "I can't possibly make this mask". And then I suck it up and do it.

I think it's a healthy sign that some of my designs actually intimidate me a little. I love a challenge.

As ever, this mask is hand-shaped and hand carved from 8oz leather. Painted with Liquitex acrylic paints & sealed with a clear acrylic coat.

I do take orders for this mask at my Etsy shop ( [link] ), but be warned; it is over $300 and takes at least 2 weeks to complete.

Love, love love your work. I saw your video on Martha Steward and was surprised how easy it was to make. I would like to know where can I get the leather from. I live in NYC and need to find a place to buy the leather to make my own mask for a sweet sixteen in May. Its a masquerade party and it had to match my tucks. Can you please help.

Hee! I know; with the furry heavy brows and the nose whiskers, he looks like a venerable old dragon to me. ;-)

This mask is really quite beautiful, and the effort you put into it was worth it.
