Frost Wolf Mask by merimask Frost Wolf Mask by merimask
Okay...so technically this isn't very Asian and I know I said I'd try to stick to a theme in here.

Still, my wolf masks are reminiscent of my kitsune masks. And besides, it's seasonal! We got over two feet of snow here over the weekend and my choice was to make something new & fun, or go quietly insane. I chose to make something new & fun.

As always, you can see more of my leather artwork here: [link]

Thank you. :-)

Not too expensive...in fact my prices at my Etsy shop are wholesale. When I sell to shops or galleries they double in retail & still sell out.

Sure! I sold this one but I can always make more. There are slight variations because it's handmade, but my work is really consistant.

They're pricey though. If you really want one, contact me at my Etsy site for details...I'd be happy to make one for you.

Thank you! It's pretty much identical in design to a Fire Wolf that I did, only that one was in red/gold on black.

Thank you! Vibrant blue on black is one of my favorite combinations too...I guess it was only a matter of time before I made a wolf in those colors.

Wow, this is amazing. I wish I coulda found something like this when we did a masquerade themed party a couple months ago. Much better than the one I ended up getting.

I love it, but I'm afraid I can't really afford to spend $175 on it at the moment. And I'm not sure I'd ever really wear it again. Great work though.

if its not to much of a crafter's secret , how do you mold the leather in to shape ,do you have to use a special liquid or heating technique?

Nothing really special; I use warm (not hot) water, my hands, no molds. Shape the carved leather by hand & then pop it in the oven at a low heat until it dries & hardens. Not too long (you don't want it to dry out & crack) & you have to take it out & tweak it a few times because it gets really soft before it starts to set up.

It's just something I figured out on my own with a lot of practice.

You should try insanity, it's kind of fun. ;)

That aside, it looks very cool (and you get a pun for free!). Great design and the colours work perfectly.

I really like the colors and patterns on this one. But from this angle he looks worried.

Take care in the snow, and this is a great alternative to going insane. :)
