So I was thinking of ways to augment and update my style, and here's my newest idea...well, new and old at the same time. I'm doing mixed media masks; incorporating vintage goggles with my steampunk mask designs.
These first few are an experiment really. I've figured out the best way to do the fittings and straps and attachments, and I played around with that aspect using my old FullSteam, HalfSteam and HalfGear designs. This is FullSteam with a pair of very old driving/aviation goggles circa 1920-1930.
They're sort of nerdy and intimidating at the same time. I'm in love with the look. This is my old mask design so it has classic mask eye holes, but next time I'll be doing rounded openings to mirror the shape of the goggles.
Materials: leather, brass fittings, vintage goggles and loads of patience and love.

They might look better with rounder eyeholes, but I actually kind of like the sleepy-eyed look you get from the narrower eyes.
