Here's another Inari mask made as a custom order. The client requested gold instead of black markings. I wasn't sure about it at the time, but I have to admit I think the gold is even prettier than the black...more delicate and female. I outlined the gold with a very fine black, just to isolate the markings and make them more distinct.
Inari is a Shinto goddess of Japan, who is often depicted as a white fox.
This mask, (like all my work) is made completely from one piece of 8oz vegetable-tanned tooling leather, hand carved and hand shaped without molds or forms. Painted with Liquitex acrylics. Custom masks like this one can be commissioned only at my online Etsy shop: [link]
