Yet another Golden Wolf. This time, I darkened the brown antiquing stain with a little red & black, to get a much richer brown. I wanted to create a greater contrast between the base mask color and the gold flames.

That gold is Liquitex Bright Gold acrylic paint, & I love it. It's durable, doesn't crack or flake from the leather, waterproof & SO metallic & pretty. I can't say enough good things about Liquitex.

On my last two Golden Wolf masks, I drybrushed gold over the brown, but I didn't do that with this one because I didn't want to dilute the sharp contrast. So...it's really not as "golden" as the other Golden Wolf masks. Anyway, I like it & besides, I'm still experimenting.

This mask and many others is available for purchase at my online Etsy shop: [link]

Thank you. I love earth tones too so I was pretty happy with the warm brown I mixed. :-)

Thank you!

It's hard to know when to quit, when you're experimenting. I'm glad I left the brown alone though because it looks more striking this way. I think...

Thank you! Yes I really wanted to offset the gold flames this time. Still experimenting.

Thanks! I saw that flame motif everywhere in Japan & thought it'd be fun to try on my masks...
