Yet another Golden Wolf. This time, I darkened the brown antiquing stain with a little red & black, to get a much richer brown. I wanted to create a greater contrast between the base mask color and the gold flames.
That gold is Liquitex Bright Gold acrylic paint, & I love it. It's durable, doesn't crack or flake from the leather, waterproof & SO metallic & pretty. I can't say enough good things about Liquitex.
On my last two Golden Wolf masks, I drybrushed gold over the brown, but I didn't do that with this one because I didn't want to dilute the sharp contrast. So...it's really not as "golden" as the other Golden Wolf masks. Anyway, I like it & besides, I'm still experimenting.

It's hard to know when to quit, when you're experimenting. I'm glad I left the brown alone though because it looks more striking this way. I think...
