I love having new ideas! New Industrial Anubis mask...now with a chain for the goggle-monocle!
About the mask: It is made from one piece of 8oz leather, hand carved and shaped without molds or forms, then dyed and painted with colorfast acrylics in rich burnished gold and black. Then I augmented and decorated it with real brass clock parts. The featured centerpiece is a vintage brass Elgin engraved pocket watch plate circa 1885 (non-functioning), securely bolted to the forehead of the mask.
This mask also comes with a goggle-monocle firmly attached to the mask with vintage brass fittings. The monocle is decorated with real brass cogs and a 20 inch long brass chain, which can be clipped to a corner of the mask, a shirt button, a vest pocket, or any steampunk-y accessory you choose! This monocle has an acrylic purple lens.
Signed, dated, numbered original; this is "Industrial Anubis, Version #36", available only at my online shop, here ---> [link]
You never cease to amaze me with your masks. If you don't mind my asking, what brand of acrylic paint do you use, and do you seal the finished mask with anything? Thank you!
Thanks! I use Liquitex soft body acrylics. They're not in a tube, so, perfect to use right out of the jar and they mix easily, and they stay elastic on leather so, no flaking or cracking. I seal with Kelly's professional grade Instant Shine...hard to find, but it won't melt acrylic finishes.
hell i really love your industrial style masks they are soo cool and just on a whim i youtubed you and found a vid of you makeing a unicorn mask. i get alot of complements about the one i have, and its simple compared to otherones youve done. i want another, but alas i am poor, well for now lol.
