I went with lighter tones when I painted the fox, because my other red foxes are a bit too "red" I noticed. Real red foxes are much more of a Golden Retriever color.
Again, I used Liquitex acrylics to finish this mask. I layered the browns; first dark and then a lighter golden brown drybrushed atop that, to accentuate the carved fur texture.
I painted the white to be clean and crisp like Sumi-e ink paintings are, and did the black the same way. I intentionally did clean simple carving with no fur texture, to add to that effect. then, black line work similar to Japanese ink painting, and finally a black acrylic wash to add even more definition to the fur.
This mask was a ton of fun! I think eventually I will offer it regularly in my Etsy shop. [link]

Amazing job... very well done! Do you take custom designs? (I've been looking for an Ameratsu style mask, but the ones I've seen until now suck lol) Oh- and Ameratsu is from the awesome game Okami if you'd like a bit of reference
I am a professional artist and this is what I do for a living. You need to read this entry so you know what not to say to professional, career artists in the future. [link]
Not a problem...it's just that it's an original design so there's not exactly a kit you can buy. It's all my own artwork. However, if you look on my front page under the blue cat, I have videos and links there for you to create your OWN design, using my techniques.
