Korky The Corgi...Mask by merimask Korky The Corgi...Mask by merimask
It's not all glamor & showbiz...sometimes I do masks of friends' pets.

This is Korky. The real Korky can be seen here: [link] posing with his mask. He's not too sure about it...

Contact me at my website if you're interested in having your pet immortalized as a handmade leather mask! [link]

Not a bad idea, like the fine texture work you did with the fur!

Thanks! It really shows up better on a dog that's not black, but still...

Very detailed and very accurate!

Although, the idea of having the leather (the skin of a cow) mimicking the face of another animal (in this case a dog) brings up mixed feelings. When its fantasy creatures it's one thing, but I'm trying to wrap my head around this idea. It's almost like stuffing animals. Their likeness will be around far longer than the actual animal. And I mean no disrespect by these comments either. Your work is incredible.

Aw, Korky's cute! And probably worried that he's being replaced. ;P

The fur lines must've taken forever!

Yeah its not glamour and showbiz but I like it better than some of your others.

Shows how old I'm getting. Bright colors don't attract my attention as much, but tasteful classics do.

Good Job!

The friend I made it for likes to freak the dog out by wearing it & woofing at him. Priceless...

Isn't that too cute?? He's like "Who are you kidding lady? The real thing is right here!" Plus, my mask can't roll its eyes in such an adorable way.

Korky has the cutest little legs too...

ROFL!! Yuu already did...this just proves once again that you're my hero... :D I really need to try doing my own mask...Any tools I should get in specific that you would recommend? Or places to get leather? I love your tutorial, so what tools and stuff should I get as a beginner?

That would be great if you would recommend me some...

Oh there's quite a list...everything I do, I can do with about $100 worth of tools & about $200 in supplies. I'm compiling it now (in my copious spare time) with links & all, for a journal entry. If you're watching me, you'll get a notice when I list it. I just haven't gotten around to it yet. :-)
