Leather Coyote Mask 2010by *merimask

I'm having fun with my new textured backdrop fabrics and so I decided to make a new Coyote mask, just so I could photograph him well. The old picture was terrible.

Here it is: my Coyote design. I always quite liked this one. In answer to a question someone here on DA put to me; I think the Coyote is my favorite mask (that I make). It's just the right combination of stylized & realistic, in my opinion.

As ever, this is hand-carved 8 oz veg-tanned tooling leather (all those little hairs are cut by hand...not painted on!). Wet-formed with no mold, heat-set, and painted with Liquitex acrylics.

the fur detail is STUNNING as always. My fav part though I think it the pink in the ears... from here it looks as though you shaded it when you painted it... Did you? Great mask , But you already know that.
