Longhaired Black Cat Mask by merimask Longhaired Black Cat Mask by merimask
Here's something I just finished last night; a black cat mask based on a friend's black Persian kitten. They have the cutest, tiny little pushed-up noses. :-)

Like all my masks, this one is made from one piece of hand carved, hand shaped 8 ounce Vegetable tanned tooling leather. All those little hairs are cut into the leather by hand with a ceramic swivel blade. It is painted with Liquitex acrylics in black with deep reddish-brown accents.

This mask is a limited, numbered edition (#2 of this design) and available right now only at my online shop: [link]

It looks so simple confronted to the others, but I think it's the one I like most. :-)

Ooh wow!

That's so classy, and detailed! There are so many curves and shapes, that's amazing!

I think you're out of stock though xD

Very cool!

D'aww, so cute! I've always been such a fan of Persian cats :)
The forehead symbols are a very nice touch.

I saw the preview and thought hey, that looks like a Persian! I love how subtle the brownish accents are; they really highlight the piece without being too showy and make you take a second look.

Oh my god it looks like my cat, Booger! If there was like, green slime oozing out if it's nose, it would be Booger:D

You got the nose perfect! While I'm not a big cat person myself, I can't help loving a persian's smooshed-up little face. :D

When I was in high school, my best friend's mom bred Persians. She had three litters within a couple weeks, once. I fondly remember sitting in a chair with a horde of Persian kittens cuddling up with me. :D They really need to stop running into walls, though. ;P

I love seeing all the unique designs you come up with, that compliment different face shapes and sizes. They each bear their own unique personality, and make every mask simply significant!
