Pair of Half Dragon Masks by merimask Pair of Half Dragon Masks by merimask
This pair of dragon masks was a special request from my Etsy shop. Usually I leave the central part of the mask smooth and draw in Venetian-style swirls with metallic paints. The client wanted scales throughout, instead, and I have to say it actually looks more dragon-like this way.

This is my "snoutless" half-dragon design, for people who prefer a mask with a smaller nose that's easier to wear. Classic half-mask design that's great for drinking and dancing in. :-)

The masks, like all my work, are made from top-quality 8 oz vegetable-tanned tooling leather, hand carved and shaped with no molds or forms. It is painted with colorfast Liquitex acrylics.

You can purchase my masks here at my online shop: [link]

They're awesome! I liked the venetian design very much, so I hope you're still going to use that one, too.

I like the continued scales more than I like the Venetian swirls. You're right- it really looks a lot more dragon-esque!

Love the bronze and gold combo! And the tiny swirlies on the ears. The horns are 'specially fantastic.

Aww... so pretty. I could see these being worn in a wedding or something! Wonderfully done, and I agree, this way looks more dragon like, the scales continuing instead of swirling.
