Just another little dragon-on-a-half-mask, but you know I love doing these guys. Purple isn't a color I use very often though. Between you and me, I can't stand the smell of the purple dye I use for a base coat...it stinks like sweet grain alcohol. Once it dries, the smell is gone, but I just don't like it while it's drying! Yuck.

As ever, this mask is hand carved from 8oz tooling leather, wet-formed without a mold, heat-set, and painted with a variety of dyes and Liquitex acrylics. Signed, dated, one-of-a-kind. Available from my Etsy shop only: [link]

So cute, though it looks more blue than purple to me. I like the silvery accents on the dragon.

Thank you! I did mix a bit of blue with the purple because I wanted it to be more "indigo" and less "magenta". I thought the indigo would look better with the silver, 'cause it's a bit cooler.
