Real Eyes Wolf Mask by merimask Real Eyes Wolf Mask by merimask

Finished, photographed and in the shop now; my new re-imagined “Real Eyes” Wolf mask, made of carved leather, with acrylic eyes you can actually see through.  :)

There is clear but limited vision through the pupils of these eyes. There is a slight bit of reflection from the shine off the acrylic, and your peripheral vision is hindered, but otherwise it’s quite easy to see through…very much like any other traditional mask with “pinhole” eyes.

I like the way they appear to be looking at you. So many of the others look kinda walleyed.

I love it when a plan comes together!

True...the domed acrylic makes them 3-d so that the pupils almost seem to follow.  :)

Thank you.  :)  Weeks of experimenting to come up with a plan for the eyes that would work with my type of mask.  I'm very happy with it.

It's very ingenious to make then see-through.
Most of the animal masks I've seen are left with a gap in the tear duct.
This is a great alternative!

Thank you!  Yes, I couldn't use a see-through panel in the tear duct area because, unlike large hood-type masks that have plenty of room, mine are leather and shaped too small and too close to the face.  I had to come up with a way to actually see through the eye.

Well in my opinion your method looks better. :)
