Another new Venetian Raven...this one is in my shop right now: [link]

As ever, made from one piece of 8oz leather, hand carved, tooled, and shaped with no molds or forms. Painted with Liquitex acrylics. I used "Sakura" brand paint pens in silver and gold, for the small swirly details.

Ooooh! Brilliant mask, my friend!
Might I make a suggestion?
Do you know of the doctors' bird masks they would wear during the black and/or bubonic plague? You should make one like that, that'd be sweet! 8D

Thank you. :-)

Those are actually called "Plague Masks". The "beak" was a cone with herbs stuffed in it, supposedly to protect the wearer (but probably all it did was block the smell of sickness & death).

My masks are all half masks with no solid cone/underside to create a full face mask. But if you do a search for plague masks you'll see that plenty of people make them. :-)

You are most welcome, my friend!

Ooooooh! So THAT'S what they're called...awesome.

Oh, I see! I didn't realize that before, my mistake. XD
I do enjoy your masks though, I just wasn't too sure what format your masks were.

red black white and gold... too beautiful. Not as pretty as the other one, but still very beautiful ;)

This one is nice too - but then again, it's hard to beat the red-white-black colour-combo. :D

Thank you...I think so too. The red and black with gold seems so traditionally "Venetian" to me, too. It's the most classic combo for this style of mask.
