Red Jeweled Half Dragon Mask by merimask Red Jeweled Half Dragon Mask by merimask
Here is a new mask in my "Persian" design motif...a Persian half dragon mask. This is a dragon mask for people who don't want a long dragon snout. The carved details in this mask are inspired by my favorite rug.

Like all my work, this mask is hand carved from 8oz leather, shaped without a mold or form, & painted with a combination of colorfast Liquitex acrylics in red, gold, copper, brown and black. This version is special, because I added several bright red Swarovski crystals for a bit of glamorous sparkle!

This is a signed, dated, numbered original...Persian Dragon #2. It's available in my Etsy shop for a limited time: [link]

Reminds me of Ganondorf for some reason...

Hmmm maybe. :-) The red & brown with horns perhaps.

Yup. And black and yellow, representing Ganondorf's armor

Thanks! The camera doesn't really capture them well, but they're really sparkly. :-)

Thanks so much! I agree, I got a very rich brown tone with my stain this time (I mixed more red & black into it).

Love the warm, rich colours here. Very much an 'earth dragon', I'd say. The Persian motif really lends itself well to this as well as your beautiful Persian style cats.

Thank you. :-) I think they lose some of the "dragon" aspect without scales, but the exotic design makes it an interesting mask anyway.

Absolutely gorgeous. Am I wrong, or have you started experimenting more? Whatever you're doing, it's turning out well!

Somewhat...I've been too busy filling orders & people mostly order what they've seen before, so I'm in a bit of a rut actually. Still, yeah, I experiment when I can. :-)

Thank you...I mixed some deep red & black with my brown antiquing stain (you can do that...it boosts the tones when they're too blah) & I really love the brown stain now.
