Another beach painting...did this one in New England though. That's a real place...Horseneck Beach in MA, if you want to know.
Another fairy too. I'm not comfortable doing portraits so I add giant wings to my girls and presto: fairy art. That's actually based on a photo of myself at 17. I had neither wings nor pointy ears, but I often thought it did.
This is one of the few watercolors I "cheated" on...added acrylic paints to get the textured lighter colored grasses atop the darker dune grass. I usually get my lighter effects in my watercolor paintings with masking medium and a careful working-around my white space, but this needed more. So, in my book I call it "cheating".
I bet you could make an amazing set of leather wings if they haven't grown in The background is really lovely too! The soft clouds blended with the trees and the dune really set it apart.
awe beach combing, I love finding stones. Kinda a beach hound from when I lived by Lake Superior. I enjoyed it a lot and is something I miss doing. I have a bunch of stones I keep for things, some of them are natural beads I incorporate into dreamcatchers from time to time. The fae picture just feels very natural to me, which is probably why I like it so much!
i like it it gives a feeling of solitude
