Silver Fantasy Owl Mask by merimask Silver Fantasy Owl Mask by merimask
Apparently I'm not the only person who likes this new Fantasy Owl design; this was a custom order from my Etsy shop. A request for the fantasy owl done in black, gray, silver, pewter and white. It's so neat, I'm probably going to have to make more!

As ever, made from one piece of 8oz leather, hand carved, tooled, and shaped with no molds or forms. Painted with Liquitex acrylics.

Custom orders like this one can be requested only at my online shop: [link]

I love it!! I loved the blue one, too, but the silver is fantastic - you have such a great eye for design on these as a whole, I'm always shocked whenever you come up with something new! You are like a fountain of ideas

I didn't realise from your other photos that you'd actually made the nose past into a beak! It's the small details like that that really pull your pieces together

I love the seemingly longer ears on this face- it gives it a unique character of something more divine. The silver color only help to promote that motif!

Thank you. :-) Yes, that's the tricky part with this design; it's really hard to photograph! It's the exact same pattern as the one I used for the blue owl but every angle makes them look like different masks entirely.

Well, then stuff a sock in my mouth! I am stunned!
I'm just thinking of that in execution... a well-dressed [theater]participant could very well create visual magic with one of these. Like in the days of the Pantheons... that would be MIND boggeling! :w00t:

You're welcome! :D

I find it rather humorous, and because the tune is so catchy I randomly Rickroll myself and laugh for no apparent reason. Annoys the heck out of my friends.

oh hey, have you ever made a mask for a ball jointed doll?

Hmm...not yet. I'm sure I could, but I'd really need the actual doll in order to fit the mask correctly.

Oooooo! You weren't kidding when you said I should see it in silver! :D This is definitely my favourite of them so far. Would be positively wintery if it had some sort of blue element to it, too.

It's a wonderful design, and it's so open to colour combinations it's almost mind-boggling. It's a good thing you're having fun with it, since it seems so popular. :P

I can really see why people like it so much - it's a really neat mask, and there are so many ways to vary the colours. :)
