I'm still playing with metallic snake patterns. Here's another experiment: my half (snoutless) dragon design with a black, copper & gold corn snake pattern.

I made a total ass of myself while taking this picture outside. The wind is blowing pretty hard today (40mph) and an especially strong gust grabbed my white reflection umbrella and WHOOSHED it down the street. So I had to chase it. I hope you like the photograph because it totally cost me my dignity. ;-)

As ever, this is leather, hand tooled & hand shaped, painted with Liquitex acrylics. This mask is available right now in my Etsy shop: [link]

While, as previously noted in the comments, the copper and bronze blend in with each other a little more so that it seems almost like they're the same color instead of two separate pieces, I like having the warmth of these better than the chilly silver. Among other things, it showcases the black bands with stunning definition, emphasizing the shape of the lines around the eyes in particular, which I suspect is part of the reason it feels more Egyptian than the previous snake pattern. The fine white lines stand out much better here as well, to the benefit of the overall design, I think. A little more contrast between the copper and bronze would be great, but I wouldn't give up on this design just yet.

I think you're right about the colors blending a bit too closely. Still definitely experimenting with this idea. A red-copper blend for the dark bands would be a better choice next time.

Glad you like it. :-)

Wow, these snake-patterened dragon masks are gorgeous. I'm rather madly in love with the entire concept.

I love the color scheme on this mask. I'm not sure if the blue tint is caused by the camera settings or the dark color is really a really deep blue, but it looks lovely.

Beautiful mask (as always), and a lovely photograph! And I really enjoyed the umbrella story, too. ;)

Oh and I rather like this snoutless version! The ones with snouts are amazing, but I think I lean towards the more simplistic and smooth masks with the touches of key details. They catch my eye most
