Teal Persian Leather Mask by merimask Teal Persian Leather Mask by merimask
Keeping busy on a ~really cold~ Sunday afternoon. I just finished a couple new Persian masks. Here's one in colors I really love (I sort of did this one just for me).

I called this a "Persian Mask" simply because the idea for this design came to me one night when I was staring at a Persian rug I own. You can see the mosque designs in the corners.

It is a super-comfortable mask to wear, & one of my most popular designs. I intentionally used a LOT of different colors because I wanted it to go with everything.

Like all my work, this mask is hand carved from 8oz leather, shaped without a mold or form, & painted with a combination of colorfast Liquitex acrylics in teal, gold, bright copper, brown and black.

So I'm barely getting into working with leather, just hoping eventually to get this good. Great colors and design, I love it. :)

I browsed whole your collection and this is the one that I felt the most connection with.
So I added it to my favourites.
I hope to see new work of you soon, because you are a very talented artist.
I hope you can keep people inspired like you did with me.
Keep up the good work!!!
Bye.

This is stunning, I would absolutely wear that to a ball or something. How did you learn to shape leather like that?
