The Holly Dragon by merimask The Holly Dragon by merimask
Not a mask this time; this is a wall sculpture almost two feet in diameter, depicting a white dragon nestled among some holly leaves.

Everything you see on this plaque was made of leather, except for the holly berries and the dragon's eyes. Those are made of carnelian stone beads.

This piece took about 40 hours to carve and construct. I've made several of them...all of dragons in different kinds of foliage. I know this one looks a little "christmas"-ish, but really, the person who commissioned it just really liked holly. ^_^

Wow! Absolutely beautiful! I can't get past the detail work of forming the dragons neck/head from the leather.. I adore how you've got the holly going down his back :) I'd be giddy to have something like this up on my wall during the Christmas season!

Wow, what a splendid and beautiful piece! We especially like the detailing around the Dragon's head and face. It almost feels real! It seems one of our Eggs likes it as well. :)

Hmm, I keep thinking this design would go well for a party hat or something.
