Time Flies version one

This is the idea that's been knirping for attention in the back of my head since, well...last summer I think. "Time Flies".
Sort of a cross between "Black Swan" meets the "Borg". I'm crazy about the motif (a black mechanical wing made of clockwork) but this is only my first experiment with it in mask form.

I had to put the arm with the gears above the eye, for aesthetic reasons, but it renders the design "pretty" instead of "looks like a potentially functional mechanical wing". So I'm still playing with the whole idea. I did a pretty decent sketch last night of a really cool pair of mechanical wings that actually make sense, and that'll be a mask in a day or so.

This mask is not for sale...not just yet. It may never be. I have some potentially cool plans for this design and it may become a licensed property. Remains to be seen how that'll work out, but at any rate, at this point it is a one-of-a-kind piece.

Like all my masks, this is hand-carved eight ounce leather, shaped by hand with no forms used and painted with Liquitex acrylics.
