I've been very busy...just finished this cute pair of green dragons. I put them on bright metallic backgrounds for a change. The one on the left is burnished gold over brown, the one on the right is bright copper.

I draw these guys right on the mask, freehand, so they all look a bit different. Fun! Then they're carved by hand and tooled...I used a textured beveler to add depth all along the outlines of the dragons.

As ever, these masks are made from 8oz tooling veg-tanned leather. Painted with Liquitex acrylics.

Copper/green (or burnished colg/green) is a really nice colour-combo - but you're always good at that, so it's nothing new, right? :D

The dragons are cute, and it must be hard to freehand them every time.

Thanks! Actually, the drawing part is the easiest thing. Takes less than a minute. I think I learned to draw before I learned to walk (in fact I know this is true because my mom said so).
