I just finished these two Venetian-style hound masks. The jade one is a special custom mask, the red is for fun. :-)

As ever, these were made from one piece of 8oz leather, hand carved, tooled, and shaped with no molds or forms. Painted with Liquitex acrylics. I used "Sakura" brand paint pens in silver and gold, for the small swirly details.

I had the red dog in my shop ( [link] ) but it sold about an hour after I listed it soooo... It's just that time of year, y'know? ;-)

The ears are beautiful. You can see the care that went into them in the way they fold over, but are still richly decorated underneath.

The jade one is really, really pretty. :) The way the light falls on the jade makes it look almost like silk.

So cute!!!!! I got a really pretty mask from Walmart today, it's cheap, but it was better made than the others, it's blue and gold. It's so pretty, but since I need to wear glasses I may just put the mask on display...

Thanks! :-) If you wear glasses, you can always tip the mask up and wear it across your forehead...lots of people do that & it still looks good.
