Venetian Fennec Fox Mask V2by *merimask

New design! This is a fanciful fennec fox mask done in the Venetian style. However, unlike a true Venetian mask (which is made of lightweight leather that is embellished with plaster and precious metal leaf and is VERY delicate), this mask is made with my own unique technique involving heavy-weight leather that is deeply hand carved. This achieves the ~look~ of a Venetian mask but is durable enough to wear anywhere, indoors or out. Even safe to travel with (the perfect mask to tuck in your suitcase on your next trip to New Orleans for Mardi Gras!)

The leather is carved, shaped, hardened with heat, then painted with colorfast Liquitex acrylics in black, dark bronze, cream and metallic copper, with gold swirls.

SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT THIS DESIGN: Fennec foxes have weird faces that are nothing like human faces. The ear to face ratio for a fennec is at least 2 to 1 so, to make a mask that covered a whole human face and had ears in proportion, the ears would need to be over two feet high. These ears are one foot long so, it's a mask with a very small face. Some people don't like that. Please be aware that this mask will only cover the top half of your face, and won't automatically turn you into a fennec.
