Well, again I'm not sure if this mask is really in keeping with this gallery (which is supposed to be my "Asian-themed" art), but I'm so darn pleased with this mask that I can't help sharing it!
I was trying to re-create the look of an aged bronze lion statue, with this mask. I wasn't really sure that the treatment would translate well, but the more I developed the coloring (a series of paint layers ranging dark green through aqua & finally bright bronze) the happier I was with the overall effect. As always, this is made of hand carved, hand shaped leather. No molds or forms are used; the design is entirely my own. If you like my work, please visit my Etsy shop! [link] |

Hahahah, I love it. Reminds me of one of the landmarks in Lucerne. ([link])
It was a beautiful statue. c:
I like lions. They make such a beautiful motif. Especially with the European touch.

The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout "save us!"...
...and I'll look down, and whisper "no".
